Seed Processing Manager

Key Requirements:

• Experience: Proven experience in seed processing or related industries, with strong expertise in machine operation and team management.
• Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of seed processing machinery, their functions, and maintenance coordination.
• SOP Development: Experience creating and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide staff.
• Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset to identify and resolve production or operational challenges.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration and reporting.
• Education: Diploma/Degree in Agricultural Engineering, Food Processing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities:

1. Supervision of Seed Processing Operations:

• Manage all seed processing activities, ensuring high-quality output and efficient operations.
• Oversee the functioning of all processing machines and guide operators to achieve optimal performance.
• Ensure processed seeds meet quality standards and production deadlines.

2. Machine Knowledge and Supervision:

• Possess in-depth knowledge of all seed processing machines, their functions, and operational principles.
• Provide technical guidance to operators on machine usage and troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with the mechanical team to ensure machines are maintained and operated effectively.

3. Development and Implementation of SOPs:

• Develop comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all seed processing activities.
• Circulate SOPs among team members, ensuring clear understanding and adherence.
• Monitor compliance with SOPs, providing training or corrective actions as necessary.

4. Maintenance Oversight:

• Oversee the maintenance of all seed processing machines and equipment.
• Work closely with mechanical personnel to schedule regular preventive maintenance and promptly address any breakdowns.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities and ensure machinery operates at peak efficiency.

5. Team Leadership:

• Lead and manage the seed processing team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
• Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide training to enhance team skills.
• Motivate and align the team with production goals and quality standards.

6. Production Planning and Optimization:

• Plan and execute daily and long-term production schedules in alignment with organizational targets.
• Monitor and optimize production processes to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
• Address bottlenecks or inefficiencies promptly to ensure smooth operations.

7. Data Management and Reporting:

• Maintain detailed records of production activities, machine performance, and workforce efficiency.
• Generate reports for management on production metrics, challenges, and improvement initiatives.
• Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for continuous improvement.

8. Compliance and Safety:

• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and industry standards in all seed processing operations.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to safety protocols and implement corrective measures when needed.
• Stay updated with regulatory changes and ensure the department operates within legal frameworks.
