Seed Production Supervisor
The Seed Production Supervisor will oversee seed production activities, ensuring timely crop operations, coordination with growers, and adherence to quality standards. Works closely with the Seed Production Team to achieve targeted acreage, yield, and purity.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily field activities across assigned grower fields.
- Ensure timely sowing, rouging, detasseling, isolation, and crop management.
- Monitor crop growth, pest/disease conditions, and advise on corrective actions.
- Coordinate with growers, field workers, and Seed Production Officers.
- Maintain field records, crop inspections, and daily activity reports.
- Track expected yields and report risks or deviations early.
- Coordinate harvesting, threshing, drying, and safe movement of seed to plant.
- Ensure adherence to SOPs, quality norms, and isolation standards.
- Support seed lifting, transport, and lot documentation during dispatch to the plant.
Qualifications
- Diploma/B.Sc Agriculture or related field (preferred).
- 2–5 years of experience in seed production or field supervision.
Skills
- Good agronomy and crop growth knowledge.
- Strong field coordination & grower management.
- Observation skills and the ability to report issues quickly.
- Basic smartphone/Excel reporting skills.
